Music Video Shoot, Goa. Day 1

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

With vigor in my heart and excitement in my mind, I boarded my flight to Goa with the rest of the production team. I was assigned the role of Production Manager and Assistant to Director. While I was nervous, I have developed the peculiar habit of channeling this nervous energy into a positive mindset. I was positive yet a stoic response from a member of the directorial team at the terminal caught me off guard. I could sense the flow of positive energy in my veins slowing down a bit though it was still there. Nevertheless, we boarded the flight, and to ease myself I tried to immerse myself in the clouds. As the plane went up and beyond I was once again reminded how tiny the world seems from distance. This thought calmed me further as the problems now seemed distant. If only I knew that the problems were yet to begin.

We had a short stop at Mumbai, and by ‘short’ I mean an hour and a half long stop. The team and I stopped at KFC where we replenished our hunger. I was looking forward to

the meal but my hunger was curbed as soon as a plethora of questions came to me like bullets out of a revolver. The questions primarily focused on the production, the sequence at which we will be shooting, what all tasks need to be completed before we begin the actual shoot, and so on.

And while I answered most questions with poise and confidence, the look that this particular person carried on his face made me uneasy in the stomach, and the Gauransh who was hungry minutes before, couldn’t gulp a morsel if his life depended on it. As I patiently waited for the ninety minutes to be over I didn’t realize what I was actually waiting for would end up being the first blow to my gut. And let me remind you, we hadn’t even landed in Goa yet.
